Getting a new sound card

i have a dell dimension 5000 and i want to get a new sound card to improve my gaming, has anyone with the same system upgraded theirs know which one i should get ? the one installed is soundmax integrated digital audio.

yes it will it uses pci slot and im sure dell has pci slots in there pc so should not be a issue.

Go with the Sound blaster XFI Proseries. Its a hella nice card. If you have a decent speaker setup, you will be glad you spent the money.

You should get the Xfi Xtreme Gamer card. I've heard about some issues with the Xtreme Music card running games.

thats the card that I was meaning to put in. Its the all black card. No need for the ones with the remotes and whatnot.
