Gigabeat SAT files to MP3

hey all.... i have a toshiba gigabeat that all files are in SAT format.... it has been dropped and kinda stopped functioning properly... i can connect it to my computer and view the files and even copy them to my computer but have no idea how to change the files to MP3 which i need to do to be able to upload them onto another mp3 player... can anyone help!? SAT to MP3!!!!
