Gigaware PC camera with mic (no audio)

I bought a gigaware pc camera with mic many months ago. The microphone has stopped working, although the camera still works fine. I need to be able to use the microphone to record messages. I have uninstalled the entire camera an then reinstalled it. No luck. How can I fix the mic??
