    Run CCleaner

Thanks I was not aware you could set preferences. I overlooked in the box there was a clear history also!

I think using the 'Clear search History' in the search box is best for this.

And in case you use the Google Toolbar:
Click on the icon at the far right of the Toolbar> Options> Features> Search box setting> UNCHECK 'save search History across browser sessions'> OK.

Dont the google preferences get reset every time you run ccleaner ?
A while back i was trying to stop the search queries on google, but every time i ran
CCleaner they would get reset, so in the end i just left them turned on as it got annoying to change the setting every time every i ran ccleaner.
I think i even put the google cookie not to be deleted in ccleaner as well, but the setting still changed back every time.

I just tested this, and you are obviously correct
    Hmm, that's a bummer !

Well at least we got rid of all history :D

I use Glary Utilities. It deletes all of the cookies, browsing history and searching tracks.
