N newbie techie Posts: 12 +0 Feb 22, 2007 #1 i bought a new WD 160gb Hdd but when i install it winwdows xp SP2 only sees it as a 128gb hdd. will updating the bios on my asus a7n8x mb sort this out or will i need to get a controller card ??

Nodsu Posts: 5,451 +7 Feb 22, 2007 #2 What drive size does the BIOS report? If BIOS gets it wrong, then you need a BIOS update. As for Windows, make sure that LBA48 is enabled - there's a registry setting for that.
