Has my mobo gone bad?

I start up the PC and the monitor is blank,so I go ahead and attach the VGA cable straight to the the Mobo's VGA connector bypassing the video card altogether and everything works as it should. I then removed and replaced the video card with another I had lying around and again the monitor is blank.Is this Mobo borked?or is there another explanation.

What are your computers specs? We need to know if the add-on video card is PCIe or PCI or AGP...

initially it sounds like a bad AGP or PCIE interface. Like T asked, which is it?

Thanks to everyone who took time to respond to my post.I installed a third graphics card( new one) and everything is good as new.I will miss that 8800gt though!
