Has Nero caused not being able to view my DVD data on disks?

  1. HAVE INSERTED DOZENS OF REWRITABLE AND STANDARD DVDS TO TRY AND SORT OUT MY COLLECTION OF DATA AND PHOTOGRAPHIC IMAGES STORED ON DVD, BUT MOST OF THEM GIVE ME A" DISK IS NOT RECOGNIZED" MESSAGE OR "PLEASE INSERT A DISK TO THE DRIVE.". INCORRECT FUNCTION IS ALSO DISPLAYED AS WELL AS THE CLASSIC I CAN SEE UNDER DISK PROPERTIES THAT THERE IS NO MORE ROOM AVAILABLE ON DISK=== SO IT IS NOT EMPTY. BUT THERE IS NO DISPLAY OF THE CONTENT ==EVEN WHEN USING DRAG TO DISK. I NOW SUSPECT THAT MY USE OF THE NERO SOFTWARE PROGRAM MAY BE THE CULPRIT AS I NO LONGER USE THAT SOFTWARE AND DON'T HAVE A COPY OF, CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A FREE DOWN LOAD TO AUTOMATICALLY READ ANY DVD AND LET ME EITHER SEE OR TRANSFER THE DATA TO A MORE STABLE NEW DISK ? also WHY DO I GET SO MANY "unable to copy disk parameters wrong" MESSAGES. SOMETIMES WHEN i SUPER WIPE THE DISK OF ALL SMUDGES AND PRINTS i CAN GET SOME OF THE FILES OFF BUT ITS ANNOYING.

    Hi

first off CAPS is bloody annoying,

it sounds to me more like your dvd unit has or is starting to fail, the lasers dont last forever.

try another dvd drive and then let us know.
