Hdd problem

hi. ive just taken a 10gb hdd out of an old x-box and tried to install it into my dads computer. i have set it up as a slave drive. the drive was installed however there was no new hdd noticed when xp started up. i went into device manager and the hard drive is there and its says its working. however i can't see the drive in my computer or anywhere.

any suggestions ?

How about creating a partition on that hard drive & formating it ?

i can't find a method of doing this.
in the disk management section there is only a c:\ drive
the x-box drive is seen in device manager but it doesn't seem to have been allocated a letter or label so i can't seem to do anything with it

What is there in the disk management section then ? Hit ALT + PRINTSCREEN, paste it in mspaint & then attach it to your next post so we can see.

Yes it sounds like it is unformatted, but it still should be listed in the Disk management screen. Post a pic as Didou stated and we'll go from there.

You don't see an unpartitioned or unallocated space anywhere in disk manager?

Try right-clicking on it in Device Manager and see what options you get.
