HDD stopped working, help please

Well, my moms hdd went to hell for whatever reason, so i figured that since i had 2 HDDs in my computer, that i would take the spare one i had (never use it) and let her use it. Well it wouldnt work in her computer, it kept going to a screen that said press F1 to boot and f2 for setup options or something like that. So i figured i would put it back in my computer, and now neither of my hdds work, not the primary or the spare i had. Does anyone know the problem? All i know is the one when its booted has that F1 to boot thing, and the primary hdd i had, when it tries to boot, it says disk read error or something along those lines. Should i just get a new HDD?

Sounds like you didn't install your HDD properly. When you put it in your mother's computer, dud you set it as master? Also, you need to install Windows or clone her old HDD to yours (sometimes you can do this even if the old HDD doesn't boot.)
