Plz tell me I have 300Watt power supply.I decided to buy gforce 6600gt. But every gforce 6600gt recommends that there should be 350Watt power supply. Then what should i do, upgrade my power supply to 350Watt or gforce works on 300Watt power supply. If i run it on 300W then what is the difference?

    Hello

Minimuim means just enuff to make it work.
Recomended means, min that'll work stable.

    If you already have a 300w psu, then I'd recomend a 400w or 450w
but be sure you buy a good quality one such as.
    ennermax
    antec etc.
a good calculator that'll let you know the right wattage.

it may work but when you play a game that needs that extra bit of power your computer will not be able to do it, and most likely will freeze.

If the psu is a good brand it may work with 300w. I ran my 6600gt on a 350w and had no problem. If you have a basic system(1hd, 1 optical, 2 or less memory dimms, cpu not oc'ed, etc), it may be enough. I doubt it'd hurt to try.

What About MSI Radeon 9800pro. Will it work nicely on 300W. Does the slowness of game is due to power supply?
