As regards a new Bios of MB Asus P4PE-X/TE, I've the last version
1008....After now there is only a Beta 1009 Version in Dos,

but I've spoken by phone with Asus Customer Assistance and they told me

update your motherboard's bios, because it is having trouble interfacing with your new cpu. have you checked with the manufacturer to see if it is compatible with your new northwood cpu?
