Help, my new system is being attacked.

My son and I recently purchased a new Dell Dimension E310 computer. We have AVG AntiVirus and use Zone Alarm Firewall. Also, we periodically scan the computer for spyware using Ad-Aware and SpyBot. Unfortunately, some malicious stuff seems to have gotten through the defenses. What we are seeing, occassionally, is that the system slows down to a crawl, and the only way to fix it is to to reboot. While the system is preparing to shut down, we have to end some programs with names that are always a jumble of alpha-numeric characters, and are never the same name.

I just ran HijackThis and am attaching a .txt version of the log.

I would appreciate any expert help that the members of this forum could provide to tell me what items to remove.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi
You do have a few things that might be slowing down your computer.
Start the computer in Safe Mode, Disable System Restore, In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html
Run HiJackThis with no other programs running and put a check mark next to:

Thanks for the reply. I did what you suggested. Now I'll just keep my fingers crossed and wait to see if it resolves the problem.

I agree with fastco`s analysis of your HJT log.

However, if your problems continue, go HERE and follow the instructions. This is because there are some infections that don`t show up in a HJT log.
