I'm trying to install my E6600 to my Gigabyte DQ6 motherboard. I have the cpu locked in, and trying to install the stock heatsink that came with the E6600. I can enguage 2 of the pins at a time (doesn't matter which 2, only 2 at a time), but the other 2 wont enguage for some reason. I've pressed pretty hard on the pins and still no luck with the heatsink. And all the holes are lined up.

Any ideas? I've watched the installation video on Intel's webisite....its no where near that easy.

Thanks

Make sure that the white plastic pins are actually going through the holes. I had problems with one where only 1 of the 2 made it through the hole and the other ended up being smashed and flattened out against the motherboard, making it impossible to get a lock. Are you sure both white plastic parts on all 4 corners are going through? If so practice several times outside the motherboard so you can figure out exactly how that locking mechanism works. The easiest way is to get the white things through the motherboard and already have the black locking part ready so all you do is push down until it clicks, rather than messing with twisting it.
