Help!! Ram giving some trouble , reading 224, i have 1 512mb stick

is my ram defective or something? problem with ram timing? o yea, laptop runs very slow now too, like i only have 128mb of ram.(all this ever since i took her to the shop!*edited*)

Are you sure you`ve got 512MB of ram?

I`m assuming that you have onboard shared graphics at 32MB. 256MB of ram - 32 MB shared graphics = 224Mb ram remaining.

Is it possible that the shop has taken some ram out?

If I were you, I`d contact the shop and ask them what they have done and why .

absolutely sure that i have 512 mb(1 stick) of ram because i just opend it and made sure they iddnt steal(swap 512 with a 256) my ram! THOSE BASTARDS! maybe half of it is fried? is that even possible? i know one thing for sure and its that my laptop shouldnt be running as slow as it is, shouldnt even say running I SHOULD SAY WALKING!

Take it back to the shop and tell them, you`re not happy. Demand that they fix it for you.

Why did you take it into a shop in the first place?
