Help - Switching raid controllers

I have a raid on my system drive and the raid controller is built into the motherboard.

I'm considering getting a new motherboard and want to know what I have to do to make the transition? Does simply installing the new raid drivers into the existing OS prior to transfer do the trick? How do I prepare my existing opperating system for the transfer.

Yes transferring the drivers prior to switching systems would be the best thing to do. Also make sure the Chipset drivers are preinstalled Everything else you can do after the switch.

So just to clarify, if I should be able to hop from one raid controller to another raid controller just by having the right driver preinstalled? Windows during boot up will be able to find the right drivers and dynamically switch to them?

Understand that the system volume itself is on this raid.
