Really need advice on mobo for Athlon 3200/3400+

I am really new at this and need some of your expert advice on a mobo.
I am looking at a brand new system. Not sure where to start with the mobo. I have been offered the Asus K8V SE Delux at a decent price. Good to go or should I shop around some more? Let's have some imput. I appreciate it!
I am interested in PCIe capability. I have heard something about AMD finally changing their socket. If that is the case, I want to be sure I get the new socket so I can upgrade to a new CPU later.
