Hissing Sound even with Auzentech Sound card?

Hi guys

I was wondering upgrading from a long good years of using onboard sound, and finally thinking of getting rid of the hissing sound from the speakers using my current Auzentech X-Fi prelude 7.1. However the sound is still their even with wires plugged into the sound card...

anyone offer help?

I get it with my Altec Lansing FX5051 speakers, they were louder( the hissing noise) when they were onboard, but while plugged into the prelude 7.1 card, the hissing is less, but not completely gone.

I'm a ***** when it comes to speakers but...Maybe your speakers are having problems themselves?

That's kind of what I was hinting at as well. I am not too great with speakers or sound cards either.

As long as I understand this correctly, you had a hissing sound with your onboard audio, you installed a new sound card and you still have the hissing sound?

Try another set of speakers.
