My new laptop has Celeron M 360 1.4GHz. The CPU is quite hot, hotter than expected because for normal use (CPU load very small) the temperature is as high as ~60C degrees. I am in a very cold room with AC.

Sometime the CPU is ~50C degrees, but another problem is the CPU fan never stops. It keep running and even the air from vent is not hot at all.

Could anyone having a similar Celeron M laptop please help to test your CPU temperature? I use the free PC wizard software here:

    Thanks a lot.

    I'm runnng a Toshiba m35-s161, 1.3gz and it's at 34C. Fan strobes on/off
periodically and the bottom of the case is mildly warm.

I have a Celeron M 2.0Ghz IBM Thinkpad R40 and it runs at 58C constantly, and I can never hear or feel my fan running. I don't know what causes this but there has to be a resolution.

I'd take that baby in, and soon. Sounds like either the fan is toast, whatever controls the fan. I know SQUAT about notebooks, otherwise I'd say open it up and have a look.
