How to play .ape files

You can play .ape on Winamp if you download the ape plugin from Winamp.com

So with other words, .ape files can't be viewed. I am asking this because I have an .ape file which is 400 mb and I was wondering if this was a movie or something. Could this be ? Or is it just something I have to listen to ?

Sounds like a full CD. Monkey's Audio is a lossless compression format, so a CD of 650 MB could compress to 400. And it is audio only.
