I had to take out the PCI soundblaster 16 from my hp vectra vl800 to put in a wireless card. So I renabled the onboard sound in the bios and booted up xp. It installed drivers for the audio card (says Intel Integraded Audio,) but no sound would come out of the speakers. So I downloaded the PDF manual of the computer (minitower hp vectra VL800,) and it said its a CrystalClear CS4299 (Cirrus logic,) sound card, so after hunter for a while, i found the drivers. I installed them for xp, and they did install, but now it says that the device cannot start (code 10) So now i'm stuck with no sound.

did u uninstall the first drivers before u installed the latest ones? if not I would recommend u try to uninstall them. I am not going to say that will fix the problem but it is a start.

Hmmm, didn't try that, the instructions that came with the drivers said to uninstall the default drivers (even said it would show up as intel integraded audio,) and to install the new ones.

Will have to try that and see what happens.
