I am not sure if it freezes

It is a HP xt928 computer. Onboard videocard. It starts up, i see the boot screen and then asking me if I want to start windows in normal mode or safe mode. I chose everything including safe mode with command prompt. It stops responding after a while. On my keyboard caps lock or numlock keys respond but screen doesn't have any progress.

When I am trying to use linux live cd to see an operating system, it freezes after a while. I changed the harddrive with winxp installed i had the same problem. I tried to run windows setup from the cd to repair but it doesn't run... i see its loading drivers for setup, then stops responding after a time.

Do anyone has any clue what the problem could be?

Try changing the title of your post to something like "Repair install freezes",it`s a bit more to the point than your current one.
As for the problem,I`d slave the drive to another PC and drag anything important of it,before you do anything else.
