Hi all- I have lurked for quite a while, so I'm a late first time poster. Aprreciate all of the info! Anyhow, my Netvista's P4 has the stock cooling fan. It's not always on- it spins up at boot, but then turns off, just kind of sitting there on the sink. Is that normal? When does it come on? I ran Everest, and it showed an average 53-55 degree cpu temp. Thanks...

This is probably normal, mine does the same thing. You can adjust the fan functions in bios, at least I can, so yours might be similar. I have mine set to quiet, so the fan is off untill it reaches some temp point that IBM considered too hot. I appreciate the silence, makes for better code editing on my part as the fan can be pretty loud.

Thanks- I guess the heatsink is effective enough in a lot of cases...
