I'm in the process of building a digital jukebox/media server.
I started with a single IDE 80gb HDD and now have decided to add a 2nd HDD.
So I purchased another 80gb drive but decided on a SATA drive as I was curious to see if there is any difference.
What would be the optimum configuration. I was thinking of putting the OS on the IDE drive as well as Partitioning it with all my audio files/players, and then using the sata drive for all video capture/playback.
Or, if the SATA drive has the OS installed on it, would the PC boot any faster?
The MB has both IDE and SATA connectors. Do I still need to configure one HDD as master and the second as slave??
    Thanks a lot

    SATA is faster.
I would put OS (5 gig)on the first partition of the SATA and programs on the next(10-15)The rest Video authoring etc.
Then use the IDE for Data(audio/video) Storage
    Just an opinion!
