IMAP instead of POP for message forwarding?

  1. Hello there.

For the last year I was forwarding my email from my school's Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to my Gmail account using POP3 with no problems. Recently, my school has stopped allowing POP3 access on their server due to "security risks" (that's another discussion). Anyway, now that I can't use POP3, I was wondering what the best way is for me to forward my emails from my school's Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to my Gmail account?? Is IMAP the best option? Will that work and would that be an overkill if it does? Is there a better way?

Many thanks to all who reply.
