Is it a Windows file or what?
Use Windows install in repair mode to check for files of Windows.
Use a partition manager such as PartIt, Partition Magic, Ghost, Acronis, or System Commander to change your partition size. Acronis is the best

what kind of files did you lost?first check whether it is in the recycle bin.If it is not in it.you can find some software to help you,such as easeus data recovery,easayreceovery etc.
