Install new hard drivw and now asking for system disk????

Hello All! Im new to this forum and i have a question. Im not a computer geek, so please bear with me.

My laptop's ( toshiba satellite a45-s151 ) hard drive crashed so I had to replace it. Now i installed the new hard drive it ask me to set-up the time and date and then after i exited and saved the changes it is now asking for system disk. Is this the operating system (windows xp home edition)? Problem is I cant find my CD (laptop is 3 yrs old) I do have the serial number but not the cd.

What am i suppose to do now? Thanks for your help!

If you've got the number you can borrow that version of the disk from someone or 'acquire' it and install with your key and it is perfectly legal.

yea dude
i had the same problem with my girl friends PC i just downloaded a clean copy from bit torrent and used her old serial number
worked a treat, passes all authentication tests and i get all updates etc
with windows your paying for the number/license not the software.
