Installing DVD writer

Dear all
I have a computer whose configuration is like this:Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz 2.41GHz,256 of RAM. Is it possible to install DVD writer in my CPU. If yes how effective is it going to be.

It is possible, and easily done, to install a DVD writer in the slot used for one of your optical drives... two screws, plug in three cables... depending on whether you use SATA or ATA/EIDE
