Is this video card sufficient to run SIMS games? I am thinking of purchasing a Compaq with this card installed.

It might, but I'm not sure.
Here it seems it can run it, but not very well.

The sis mirage2 is not very fast at all though.

It's the bottom one, it's less than half as fast as the slowest agp card listed, the 64bit fx5200, which is pretty bad itself.

If the pc you're considering is one of these(one's sempron based, the other athlon 64, they should be in the $500-600usd range),

then it's a good deal, since it's upgradeable to agp graphics. You could get a cheap graphics card, like this,

and install in it and it would run the game well, but with the standard graphics(sis mirage2), it will barely play any games well.

A dell that's upgradeable will cost at least $800usd.

nana im having that problem now. i love to play the sims2 myself. the game will play but it freezes and im not able to add the extras like family fun stuff,or glamour life stuff, it causes the wall to blink red and black.
