Hello all. I currently have a desktop with an onboard Intel I217-V network interface card (http://ark.intel.com/products/70831/Intel-Ethernet-Connection-I217-V). I My ISP uses coax cable for the last leg of their run so they hit their cable modem and then from there I connect my home wireless router via Cat 6. I then run a Cat 6 cable from the router to my NIC.
The LEDs on the NIC show as Red & Orange, as shown in the attached photo. I do not know what the red LED means. I've seen posts where it means Gigabit connectivity and then I see posts where it means there are errors or collisions on the link. Does anyone know about this?
