  1. Internet Explorer icon reset to 16-colour version

More of an annoyance rather than a serious issue, but any idea how I can reset my Internet Explorer icon to the true-colour variant rather than the 16-colour version?

Is your internet explorer icon a shortcut i.e does it have a little arrow on it, if it is a shortcut your could try changing the icon and then setting it back to the IE icon by right clicking your IE icon, then properties, then the shortcut tab, then change icon.

Actually it reset itself. It wasn't a shortcut.

    Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Give this a try. Right click on the icon and select delete and click yes.

Right click on an empty part of your desktop and select properties. Click the Desktop tab, followed by the Customize Desktop button. Tick the Internet Explorer box and click ok/apply/ok. This will have put a new IE icon on your desktop. See if that helps.
