Internet Explorer up to no good!!!

  1. My computer has alot of viruses but i think the main one has something to do with internet explorer. We recently changed to the browser mozilla firefox and i was looking at task manager (ctrl alt del) and i noticed under processes explorer was operating with all these other things like SOUNDMAN.exe so i right clicked explorer and closed its process tree and that got rid of all the other owner started process but also the desktop. So i ran a new task desktop and that got the desktop back but explorer started going again.

Yes im a noob but can anyone tell me whats the problem and how to fix it???

explorer.exe is the Windows desktop and file browser. Leave it alone :p

    Internet Explorer runs as iexplore.exe

don't remove explorer even if you use firefox, mozilla, or opera or some other browser. IE is integral to XP. If you delete it, you'll run into problems. Most 3rd party web browsers set themselves as the default when you install them.
