Internet Help

Hi-
I have comcast cable internet - with two laptops wirelessly connected.
I have a great connection - the one laptop connects and works great.
I have had both running on the connection for months with no problems.
NOW, laptop #2 (which is newer) has a great connection - but I cannot
use the internet. It is wierd - I have a the connection to my network - but
the internet wont work in it -
any help?

Try this: Unplug your power source to your wireless router and then reconnect said power. Often the only thing needed is for the router to reset.

thanks - but that doesnt do it
I get a great connection
the other laptop gets the internet great
this one wont - it is a connection - but no internet

It could be your wireless card. Did you check device manager or hardware tab in your Properties to see if a) it is recognized and/or working properly?

first use this test on BOTH systems to test the TCP config of each:

if all systems can ping www.google.com, then the tcp setup is correct and the email or
browser needs attention.
