iPod giving strange rythmic beeps!????

well, i have a 4th gen 20gb Ipod. its working great.
however, ocasionally, i get these set of beeps which kinda scares me to death and i wonder whats wrong.

basically these are 6 beeps one after the other.
its like "2 1 2 1 2 1" where 2 is a little higher pitch than 1.
its at a tempo of bout 60bpm.
well... i think i've said enough bout the beep.
please help if u can.

I dont know much about ipods but can suggest you do a system reset.

Also, just to rule out something as simple as this....

Check if it is the alarm. Doh!

If your alarm isn't on, and a system reset doesn't fix it, try updating the firmware.

yeah, well alarm was on but it was set for 1130 am where as i heard the sound in the evening. i already tried the reset and updating
