Is outdated Norton Internet security Worth getting rid of?

My Norton security stopped getting new definitions since the trial period is over; this happened about a month ago. Should I keep Norton still on my computer or get rid of it since it can't protect me from new virus'? I'm just getting so tired of it telling me I have a major security problem because it wants me to renew my subscription.

Yep get rid of it, if you aint gettin the updates you aint protected, Howard Hopkinso has a guide here for uninstalling it for good here, as well as advice on what to use instead
