Is this set of computer components ok?

hi- so me and some freinds are building a pc during the christmas period . I will be using it for gaming/collegework, and have a small bargain budget of £400 max. I will not really be playing any high end games on it such as the new Fallout 4 game (although I may but on minimal settings). So to get an insight, and some good component deals I used Amazon, and today imparticular as it is 'Black Friday'. So I know how to build it, but im no expert on the components themsleves. Here is my basket from Amazon.

Personally, I'm not the richest kid on the block.
So should I even be going for a gaming/work related desktop PC at all?
Should I instead be going for a gaming/work Laptop?? And if so, it would be really nice, and helpful to recommend one. once again, thank you in advance, looking forward to some support on the matter.

SSD of course. I recommend at least 120GB unless your critical software files are small. In that case, even 60GB is enough.
