Issues with NET SEND command

I am having issues with the Net send command. One day it just completely quit working, it will no longer send a message from anyone in the building. We are recieving several different error messages whne attempting to use the command. Any ideas for correcting or troublshooting this issue?

have you just installed Service Pack 2 for Windows XP? This sometimes disables the net send command
