Laptop appraisal

Hey guys here lately I've been pondering the idea of selling my laptop and building a desktop that is much better for the price. I know a Laptop doesn't stand up to a desktop, but for the price I could've gotten better. If anyone could put a price tag on this, it'd be great!

NVIDIA GeForce GT540M 2gb of video RAM
8gb memory
450gb HDD
Win 7 Home Premium

I can't see you getting anymore then $500.

You'll be able to get a bit more than that, looking at completed listing in eBay I can see them going for £500-600 which is about $800-950.
