    hello, I want to reformat my laptop hard drive and re-install the OS but I lost my re-installation Cd . It's windows xp home and I have the product key from microsoft attached to the laptop. What should I do. Thanks

    It is going to depend on which brand your Lptp is. The best bet is to contact the Manufacturer and obtain one their Disks.This should be no problem if you are the registered owner.

    Odds are an OEM key isn't going to work with a retail XP CD, rikkigrysko. Even more than that, this thread is over a year old.
