Laptop screen goes blank

When i shut my laptop then and open it back up the screen is blank and non responsive so i have to turn off the laptop and turn it back on via the power button.

Make sure that the display screen is not in standby mode when you close the lid.

need to set the lapto to do nothing when you shut your laptop in settings
