Linksys BEFSR41 Ver. 3

I am having problems attempting to connect to my routers web based utility. I have entered 192.168.1.1 in my firefox address bar and it tells me that the connection times out. I'm not sure if i am connecting to the right ip addy or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that is the default ip for linksys routers, but just to be sure:

go into network connections and call up the status window for the active connection linked to the linksys router in question. what is your default gateway and dhcp server's ip listed as?

also try using internet explorer to access your router as well as firefox.

You can always try holding the reset button in the back to reset the router to the default configuration. The login IP could have been changed, and this will reset it.

You may have also set the web based utility to use HTTPS instead of HTTP. Try the address as https://192.168.1.1

yes ,if it connects to internet sounds like a reset of router may help.
to check nic card setup
right click on network icon go to propertys left click
right click connection go to propertys left click highlight tcp/ip
go below to propertys popup windows should be set default to dynamic.

if no internet connect first check make sure nic is enabled
