Looking for digital video app called Digital Scrapbook

  1. My wife had some home movies converted to DVD and I'd like to
extract segments for some cousins and burn them to CD. The
DVD must be somehow protected because I can't simply copy
    the files or "chapters".

The first time I opened the DVD there was some information about
a program called Digital Scrapbook that would supposedly do that.

I've searched but can't find anything further on it, and I can't get that
screen to reappear by removing and restarting the DVD.

Or is there another application that would allow me to copy off
segments of the DVD (it's recorded in "chapters") and copy them
individually to CD's in a format media player can play?

    Thanks!

This link may be able to help you.
The DVD needs to be converted to AVI format before you can do anything with it.

Thanks! I'll have to study through that, may take awhile.
