I have recently been downloading live concerts from:

http://www.archive.org/audio/etreelisting-browse.php

There is quite a bit of good music here especially if you are fan of acoustical music. Most of the files are uploaded in a lossless format, ie .org .flac. I have been using dbpower amp to convert the files to mp3's. I was wondering of anyone knows of a player that will play the original lossless files, I can't seem to locate one.

Thanks

Here is a plugin for Winamp so you can play flac.

One of the guys said it crashes his, I believe this is the flac plugin I have for winamp and I've never had any problems.

Thanks I will give it a try. I will have to download winamp I have never used it.
Thats odd, I thought pretty much everyone that has more than 10 mp3s has used winamp at least at some point.

I recommend using the old style look, rather than the bubbly Winamp5 look. But thats just me.

Winamp

Guess I never bothered to try anything other then Windows Media Player it seemed to work well and I new how to use it. The winamp program seems pretty good and the .flac pluggin works flawlessly, thanks again.

That is one of the ugliest pieces of software I've ever attempted to use. Its a horrible interface, I have no idea why anyone would want to use that over even winamp 2.0.

Ugly? You can make it look beautiful! Just takes a bit of work customizing the things you want. Here's the guide we have for foobar - https://www.techspot.com/tweaks/foobar/

Here's how mine looks on one of my machines from day to day

big pic so I'll just link it :)

And when I want it out of the way all I see is this

I abandoned Winamp a while back for foobar and don't miss a thing about Winamp. Anything it can do foobar can too - and much more.

Yeh, its ugly. Its also HUGE, so its impossible to have instant access to all its controls and the EQ without bringing it to the front. With something like winamp, its small enough you can put it on the side of your open apps, so you never have to cover up something else thats going on, or that you may be reading.

If you must get winamp out of the way then you can put whatever buttons you need for it down in your system tray.

You can do the same with foobar :) and the program is much lighter than winamp as far as memory/cpu usage (until you modify it that is)
