Intel and Toppoly Optoelectronics have successfully developed LCD panels for mobile PCs that consume less than three watts, in comparison current LCD panels consume about 10-watts, Intel said.

As you can imagine, LCD panels are one of the major drivers of power consumption in laptops nowadays, samples of the new technology are said to be out already so perhaps Intel could have something major for a Centrino 2 launch?

Wow.. thats like 3x battery power sorta. 3x less drainage from the lcd anyways :D

Probably more like 50% more battery. :)

But a heck of a huge change! I welcome any extra battery time, because that's what laptops are meant to do.... Work on battery power.

I think a lot of us spend too much time worrying about our battery time than actually working or enjoying our time spent on the laptop itself.
