Making 2 connections into 1

Hello, I have 2 DSL modems running into my house. Is there any way to splice them into one and make one large connection?

Yes, all you need is some advanced router that supports load balancing.. Unless you want to pay a lot of cash for a special router a simple Linux or BSD box (and heaps of networking knowledge) will do, or a ready-made solution like Shorewall.

Is shorewall a software solution? I noticed theres a shorewall program that looks like a firewall. Or is the hardware solution the only way to go?
