Making Vista Ultimate bootup faster

Is there a way to shorten the boot up time before the OS is loaded, just the black screen with the whole bios and screen of what HDD your computer has and etc, is there a way to hide it / remove the time it shows on booting your PC so you could make Vista booting time faster? My laptop doesn't show it but my desktop does! (this has nothing to do how long it loads Vista, since my PC is built and only less than 3 months old and all my hardware is new)
