And it's nasty, as BoA called today 6-28-2018 saying:
  • they were notified on 6-26 and new cards were in the mail
  • and that MY ACCOUNT had fraudulent charges(3)
While the story at DataBreachToday.com suggests no account information was accessed, the prompt response from BoA on the unexplained charges strongly suggests otherwise.

MONITOR ALL YOUR MASTERCARD ACCOUNTS!!
 
Many server jocks think that an SSL connection is the only protection necessary :sigh:

All the user data collected lies on HDs somewhere and even while at rest (ie not being used) it too needs encryption.
