McAfee key stolen?

A couple of month ago I purchased McAfee All Access (bought from Best Buy I think, can't remember)and when I went through all the steps to install the product and I typed in the key but when I clicked redeem, it already had an email account registered to the key. It was asking for a password but no one in my family has the email address and I was the first one to open the box. Could someone have stolen my key? I've already contacted McAfee and they said there was no way to prove that I had bought it?

Do you not have the sales slip for your purchase? Did you pay cash or credit card. With a credit card You should have a statement from the credit card company That would list your purchase.

I did not purchase it, it was my mom who did. I will ask her next time I see her.

Just a tip: Dont use that bloatware. Use something like Avast or MSE (AVG is pretty horrendous in my opinion). AV from companies like Norton and McAfee for example are largely ineffective against everything but the most common viruses.
