Microsoft confirms Windows XP64 will be OEM only

    That's the story from a product manager at Microsoft, who says that "Windows XP64 will be sold through system builders and distributors and people will be able to buy it pre-installed on a system builder PC "or just purchase the OS with some piece of hardware".

    However, there may be a system in place for people to trade 32-bit XP Pro licences for the 64-bit version of the OS.

    Heheheh you know what this means ! ;)

    It means that Longhorn will only run on 64-bit processors.

    Its an interesting idea, though, isn't it? What if that does happen? Remember the pentium (original) and windows 95? You could run windows 95 on a 486 but it was designed for a pentium. Maybe the Longhorn 32-bit version will have a very limited life.
