Monitor showing checkerboard pattern

My monitor has started showing a black and white checkerboard pattern. The colors will alternate from the center sqaures to the outer squares. When the outer squares are black the inner squares are white and vice versa. This pattern covers the entire monitor screen. I have unplugged the monitor from the computer and the pattern is the same. I have unplugged the monitor from the wall waited plugged it back in and the same is happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

Some monitors go into testing mode when they can't detect a connection. I know that you probably already did this, but check to make sure the monitor cable is snug in the graphics card. Also, try reseating the graphics card. Good luck! :grinthumb
