Motherboard problem

  1. Hey all, I have a question... I have an asus p4p800 - E Deluxe and over Thansgiving I took some pictures, plugged my usb in my front usb connector and my pc just turned off, tried to boot back up and as it was tring to boot backup I noticed a burning smell. It somehow fried the intel chipset, how I don't know. This issue has happened to me a year before in a kind of similar situation where I plugged my headset into my front auto connector. Anyone know why this is happening? Help would be very appricated!!! Thanks

Strange... Maybe there is something conductive that got in the PC or in the USB connector.

    It can be static too.

What should I try? This has happened to both of my p4p800 motherboards. I'm calling Asus tommorw to see if they will replace it, if they do I will try this model again. If they don't do you know any up-to-date motherboards?
